Steal this and sound more confident...

Hey Reader,

Happy St. Patrick's Day! ☘️

Or as I like to call it, the only day I eat cabbage on purpose!

Speaking of food…Steal this recipe for confident speaking…

The best communicators in the world didn't wake up one day sounding like that. Someone, somewhere, caught their attention and they thought, "I want THAT."

Think about it. Every great athlete had a poster on their wall.

Every great chef started by copying someone else's recipe exactly as written. And every speaker or podcaster who sounds effortlessly confident?

They borrowed from someone first.

Here's how the recipe thing actually works.

You find a dish that blows your mind. You track down the recipe.

You try it, and burn it the first time.

Maybe the second time it's edible.

By the third time, it actually tastes like what you imagined. And then, because you've made it enough times, you start adding your own twist.

Extra garlic. A little heat…

Something that makes it unmistakably yours.

Communication works exactly the same way.

You find someone whose presence commands a room. You study what they do. You practice their rhythm, their pacing, their confidence.

And then over time, your own ‘spice’ sneaks in.

Your own energy. Your own style.

Nobody's asking you to become someone else.

The goal is to borrow the bones and build your own house.

That's “emulation”.

And it's one of the fastest shortcuts to sounding like you actually belong behind a mic, on a stage, or leading a staff.

Nobody is born "magnetic"…

They just found the right recipe and kept cooking.

Stellar Quotes

“Most people do not listen with the intent to understand; they listen with the intent to reply.”

Stephen R. Covey

“You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you stop to look fear in the face.”

Eleanor Roosevelt

"Behind the Mic"

Some people collect stamps. Some collect vintage wine. Me? I've spent 30+ years collecting celebrity moments that would make your jaw drop, Reader.

William Shatner walked in and immediately said, "Call me Bill." Then dropped an F-bomb before I could even say hello. The man has truly seen everything, and he wants you to know it.

Bruce Springsteen spent most of our hour together asking about ME. The Boss. Asking about me. I'm still not sure how that happened.

Rob Lowe has somehow managed to personally meet every famous human being who has ever existed. The stories never stopped coming.

Then there was Sting. Great interview. Genuinely fascinating guy. But the smell. His assistant casually mentioned he skips deodorant and uses crystals instead. (Buddy, it might be time to upgrade your rock collection.)

Dennis Quaid came in with zero movies to promote. He was just in town because his band was playing Portland that weekend. The man is a legitimate rocker. After he left, calls flooded in, and I auctioned off the headphones he wore on air for charity. Someone bid $612. Turns out those headphones belonged to our chief engineer. Awkward.

And that's just scratching the surface. Bob Barker handing me his home phone number. Richard Simmons literally lifting me off the ground. Kristi Yamaguchi sitting on my lap for days straight. More stories are coming, I promise.

What three decades of interviewing celebrities taught me is that great conversations are a skill, not luck.

That's exactly what I bring to our free fifteen-minute discovery call at One on One with Royce. I'll help you sharpen your interview skills and keep audiences glued to every word.

No sales pitch. Just real, actionable tips you can use immediately.

Hey Reader, I’m worried. Blame it on the pandemic, too much “screen time”, or maybe the educational system... A lot of people are walking around with an invisible "Do Not Disturb" sign hanging around their neck. The crazy part is, THEY put it there. We’ve stopped ‘talking’ to each other! “Introvert” is a label, not a life sentence. Here's the thing about being "shy" or "introverted", those words have somehow turned into “permanent personality” diagnoses. Like it's etched on a nameplate on...

Hey Reader, Are you using Daylight Saving Time as an “excuse”? (Why not?) I would, but we don't change our clocks here in Arizona. (But I still have to do the ‘math’!) Today, we’ll dive into… Stop talking so fast; nobody cares. The best speakers in the world have a secret weapon that has nothing to do with their vocabulary, their confidence, or even their material. Most people walk away from a conversation thinking, "I totally nailed that." Then they hear a recording of themselves, and...

Hey Reader, Yay, you’re here! What up, Buttercup? Today I want to help you sound more confident, command more attention… By helping boost your Volume! “Quiet people” get ignored. The quietest person in the room is rarely the most trusted one. Quiet politicians don't win elections. Soft-spoken motivational speakers don't fill arenas. And the “low talker” at the boardroom table? Nobody's asking them to lead the next big project. None of them “whispered” their way to the front of the room. They...
